I wanted to tell you that I rave to everyone who will listen about how excellent you are with children. I'm introverted and fairly private but I'm also very observant and protective. When all [my] kids were still attending I was amazed at how intuitively you interacted with each of my kids personalities. You were firm and encouraging with the older two. Endlessly patient and appropriately tough on [my son] and very gentle with [the youngest]. You just knew how to bring out the best in each one of them and I was in awe. I still am. I will be forever grateful for how you are modeling strong womanhood for [my daughter].

Little back story - as most of you know Trent was recently diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. We’ve been trying to get medicine to help with his hyperactivity right, but still early into it and struggling... so he’s also been struggling with sleep now in the past few months. The past full week has literally been almost 2 hours of sleep for him every night except two nights/days he got a total of 4 hours after going full speed and absolutely wild for 16-18hrs straight. Needless to say, it’s not healthy for him to sleep so little, so today we started a new medicine to help. He slept from 1:30-5:45pm and I debated so hard about letting him sleep, or waking him for jiu jitsu... so I asked him and he wanted to go. We got there, he was tired, a little grumpy and I started thinking I shouldn’t have taken him. He was definitely still tired and not focusing due to it and got emotional a few times and I was waiting for one of his extreme meltdowns to start and was honestly getting nervous for it, but that didn’t happen. Sheril could tell he wasn’t himself at the beginning of class and I didn’t even mention how the day had been or medicine changes... but every time he started to get emotional and hide his face(a sign that usually a big meltdown is coming) she sat alone with him and talked to him. I couldn’t hear their conversation, only they could, but she majorly helped him not feel bad about his rough night and I did hear her remind him several times he was doing great. So instead of leaving class in a hurry to get him in the van to try and calm him down, we left with him still very tired, but with a smile on his face. Thank you soooooooo much Sheril for being so patient and kind to Trent when he needed it! You definitely make Trent look forward to coming to class!!!
